TAMBO

That All May Be One

TAMBO is now a reality following the Blessing of the Space. And we are, as it were, open for business. Elsewhere you can find a program of events for the next year. We would like to build a Chapel and other structures in the future. However, in the meantime, events are held in and around our home. There are some accommodations for those wishing to take advantage of it.

The Association is here for the benefit of those in InterChurch or Interfaith relationships, or for those who want to know more about the subject - both lay and clergy. The Retreat Center is a natural extension of the ministry. We have found over the years that generally speaking Retreat Centers are run by denomination. Many are genuinely involved in ecumenical and inter religious affairs and welcome this from different traditions and religions. However, with the best will in the world they cannot help but slant their activities in the direction of their own tradition. The other is always an outsider. Our aim is to avoid that situation. No one who comes to us for a Retreat of a Day of Recollection will be questioned about their faith or beliefs. Of course if the retreating has questions or seeks guidance we will ensure that there is someone available to help them.

Amenities

We already have an RV Park area with limited water and electric. In the near future there will be more water and electricity hook-ups; we also have a dump on site.

Another area has been set aside for games area.  This is a grassy area adjacent to the RV Park where young people (or those young at heart) can play. We know from experience that when young people from different traditions play together they find that they have more in common than they thought.

Faith

A labyrinth is being designed and a garden room will be made which will be enclosed area with the labyrinth, together with various seating areas for meditation. The Unity Prayer Garden is meditative space, which includes religious symbols from many different Faith traditions.

We have begun planting a rose garden which can be used to say the rosary, or sit and smell the roses. Elsewhere there is the "Walk of Tears" (Stations of the Cross). We have plans for a Hermitage on site.
